1. What’s keeps you busy during the day?
Having recently decided to pursue a personal passion (my blog called Nickyemmode), most of my day goes into perfecting the nuts and bolts of this said passion. Creating a successful blog demands a huge amount of work. I research locations, confirm profiling dates, plan shoots as well as wardrobe plus all the intricacies that come with getting the best content. I also spend a large amount of my time researching other areas of this business that I can scale.
2. Where do you live, work and play?
I live in Northwold – Johannesburg, work from home mostly and play…everywhere. My “play” radius is not limited but would normally follow the theme of interesting + beautiful. Let’s see how this changes after lockdown, if at all!
3. What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me means grace, empathy, kindness and intelligence. We live in unfortunate times where the likes of social media has placed great emphasis on materialism and aesthetic beauty. It is for the same reasons that internal qualities have fallen by the way side. In a country and world that we live in, the aforementioned qualities go a long way in the betterment of humanity, our environment and those in our society who are in the most need.
4. What are 3 of your favourite beauty products that you can’t live without?
1. Coconut oil
2. Euceryn sun protection and
3. Water. Water. Water
5. What does a successful 2021 look like to you?
A successful 2021 for me involves the success of others. My success would be in creating a platform that showcases some of our most beautiful local restaurants and hotels whilst simultaneously encouraging establishments to work with local designers, artists and more local service providers
